Tis The Season of Giving Gifts and Spreading Germs

As wonderful as this season is there is always something very dark about this time of year. It usually creeps in while you’re sleeping, or sneaks in just as you arrive to a house full of guests.

It brings with itself suffering, aches, and pains. It is relentless and mercies no one.

What is it that i speak of? The ruthless Cold and Flu season.

It almost always hits around the holidays. More often then not it is right before Christmas or right afterwards. Just think of all the people in the stores with you while you’re rushing around buying those last minute gifts. That change you received from the checkout line or the pin pad you used to sign your name could very well be tainted with Flu germs and you just grasped them in your palm like sweet sweet candy.

You may be one of the lucky few that “Never get sick”, and if you are, then this Get Well Kit is just the thing someone would appreciate getting from you while you go on bragging about how you “Never Get Sick”. How lucky you must be to “Never get sick”. Cough Cough…here hold my change for a second will you.

Now for those of us who do get sick, isn’t this just the thing that could warm your soul? And maybe after you’ve passed your germs onto the next you could be so kind as to send them one of these kits. I mean it’s the least you could do for them after sneezing in their egg nog and sending your illness to attack their body. Am i right? It’s the gift that keeps on giving.


Our friends came home from their families christmas under the weather. They needed a little pick-me-up so i threw together a little Wellness Gift Basket.

Once again…i use what i have in the house. There are many ways you could show my little Wellness Basket. But here are some basics ideas.

Cold and Flu Gift Basket

  • Chicken Noodle Soup (Better yet: Homemade Broth or Stew)
  • Tea Bags with an optional Mug (Better Yet: Make a loose leaf tea blend)
  • Bulb of Garlic. Garlic is just good for wellness.
  • Lemon. Great for tea. (Better Yet: add some raw honey for the tea)
  • Ginger. Ginger tea and Ginger baths are wonderful.
  • Epsom Salt. Good to throw into those Ginger baths.
  • Elderberry Syrup. So healthy and so tasty!

Other things to add:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Eucalyptus Rub
  • Rice heating pack
  • Wool Socks
  • A good book
  • Kleenex

I’m great with presentation. I stuffed all this in a zip lock bag and sent it to the neighbors. Now, feel free to show off by placing all in a nice basket, wrapping with cellophane and tieing a beautiful bow on top. I can’t tie a straight bow to save my life, so ziplock bags are perfect for me. I did make sure to zip it up with great love and intent, hoping that makes up for the fact it came delivered in a ziplock. Better Yet: ziplock bag could be used as a Puke bag, so maybe i’m just really smart by putting everything in the bag.
